چکیده
Rice can accumulate more organic and inorganic arsenic (iAs) than other crop plants. In this study, the localization of As in rice grains was investigated using High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS) based on 26 varieties collected from two provinces. all samples, total contents polished were 0.03–0.37 mg/kg, with average values 0.28 0.21 mg/kg for sample sets. The results determination speciation different components grain showed that brown mean value arsenite (As(III)) nearly twice arsenate (As(V)). regional difference observed both speciation. reason may be As(III) is mobile As(V) a dissociated form because soil properties, varieties, growing environment. proportion iAs bran higher rice, tends between husk endosperm. our selenium could alleviate risk toxicity at primary stage growth. Co-exposure to Se germinated indicated reduction accumulation reached 73.8%, 76.8%, 78.3% As, As(III), when compared treated alone. addition (0.3 mg/kg) along significantly reduced amount parts rice. Our biofortification crops.

Nitric Oxide Alleviated Arsenic Toxicity by Modulation of Antioxidants and Thiol Metabolism in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Nitric oxide (NO) is a gaseous signaling molecule and has a profound impact on plant growth and development. It is reported to serve as pro oxidant as well as antioxidant in plant system. In the present study, we evaluated the protective role of NO against arsenate (As(V)) toxicity in rice plants. As(V) exposure has hampered the plant growth, reduced the chlorophyll content, and enhanced the ox...

Rice can take up and translocate more As and Hg than other cereal crops. A hydroponic experiment was conducted to investigate their interactive effects on their uptake and toxicity in rice seedling after exposing to As(III) (0.1, 0.5 or 2.5 mg L−1) and Hg (0.05, 0.25 or 1.25 mg L−1) for 14 d. Rice was much more effective in taking up Hg than As and sequestered both in the roots. As and Hg reach...

Widespread arsenic (As) contamination in paddy rice (Oryza sativa) from both geologic and anthropogenic origins is an increasing concern globally. Substantial efforts have been made to elucidate As transformation and uptake processes in rhizosphere and metabolism in rice plant, which provides an essential foundation for the development of mitigation strategies. However, a range of crucial mecha...
متن کاملArsenic and selenium toxicity and their interactive effects in humans.
Arsenic (As) and selenium (Se) are unusual metalloids as they both induce and cure cancer. They both cause carcinogenesis, pathology, cytotoxicity, and genotoxicity in humans, with reactive oxygen species playing an important role. While As induces adverse effects by decreasing DNA methylation and affecting protein 53 expression, Se induces adverse effects by modifying thioredoxin reductase. Ho...
متن کاملA review of recent developments in the speciation and location of arsenic and selenium in rice grain.
Rice is a staple food yet is a significant dietary source of inorganic arsenic, a class 1, nonthreshold carcinogen. Establishing the location and speciation of arsenic within the edible rice grain is essential for understanding the risk and for developing effective strategies to reduce grain arsenic concentrations. Conversely, selenium is an essential micronutrient and up to 1 billion people wo...
